What your contribution will do
Through the financial support of parents, friends, and businesses, the Foundation enables our children’s teachers to create a strong learning environment, to find and implement the instructional programs that they believe are best for our kids, and to develop as experts in their field. SSEF funding also supports aspects of learning that shape character, critical thinking skills, and leadership skills through resources including the International Baccalaureate program. Without this funding, many of the programs that make Sarah Smith such a unique and successful learning environment would not be available.
In 2009-10, SSEF funded over $180,000 for curriculum and classroom programs unique to Sarah Smith Elementary. In 2010-11, the foundation seeks to fund just over $170,000 in programs. A comprehensive list of all programs that will receive funding in 2010-11 can be found in the curriculum narrative.
2010-11 Fundraising Efforts
The Sarah Smith Education Foundation (SSEF) needs your support! The SSEF is a not-for-profit organization that helps ensure our children receive a high caliber education offered by some of the most skilled educators in Georgia. The SSEF funds programs that go above-and-beyond the standard APS curriculum, making our school special. Just some of these include purchase of all Junior Great Books reading program materials, Everyday Math supplemental materials, teacher/staff training, and supporting the IB program.
