Celebration of Learning
COL will take place Friday, August 5,2011.
Intermediate Campus: 9-10:30am
Primary Campus: 10-11:30am.
The first day of school is Monday, August 8, 2011
Celebration of Learning (COL) is Sarah Smith’s Back to School event where you find out your child’s teacher assignment, sign up for PTA, obtain your carpool number, research your bus route, pick up Pre-Ordered School Supplies, buy school agendas for grades 2-5 and so much more…
For all grades (K-5) the teacher assignments are posted outside the school at both campuses on the day of COL. This day allows the child and parent/guardian to visit his/her classroom for the first time, meet the teacher, and receive and fill out important paperwork. In the classroom, your child will have a chance to meet some of their classmates, sit in their designated seat and become familiar with their new surroundings. As parent/guardian, you will be able to complete additional paperwork, such as preferred after school transportation and emergency contact forms. Please remember, teacher assignments are not available before COL.
For Celebration of Learning it is a good idea to bring your calendar and cash/check book. Agendas for grades 2nd through 5th will be on sale for $7.00, each student from those grades is required to purchase one. Also, if you pre-ordered your school supplies online before June 15th, you can pick them up at COL. These supplies will be available in the gymnasium. In addition, our SRS Spirit Wear will be for sale. All students are strongly encouraged to purchase a field trip t-shirt to wear on their special field trip days through out the year. Also, it is nice to have a shirt for some of our fun spirit days!
In the gymnasium, there will be many tables staffed with volunteers to help parents get prepared for the year. Be sure to visit the informational tables regarding PTA Membership, After-School Programs and Activities, Bus Routes, carpool numbers and more. *Carpool numbers are the same for both campuses.
